Lifting Ukraine
Lifting Ukraine is the debut photo essay by Long Lead - featuring original photography and reporting by Maranie Staab.
As Creative Director, I shepherded this project from pitch to publish. Aside from shaping the editorial visuals from our photojournalist, I worked with creative agency Decimal to build a visual-forward CMS. The result showcases multimedia like never before: beautiful layering, immersive photography and cinematography, and custom design.
Lifting Ukraine won two 2024 Webby Awards for Best Use of Photography - The People’s Choice Award and the Jury Section.
The Catch
The Catch is a long form multimedia epic by Long Lead - featuring historical imagery, commissioned imagery and video, and bespoke design.
As Creative Director, I oversaw all visuals on this project from creative brief to final build. I led a team including a photojournalist, photo researcher, photo agencies, and creative agency Gladeye to achieve a captivating user experience.
The Catch won a 2024 Webby Award for Best Individual Editorial Feature.
